From Oak to Shaker doors and more

This project included changing not only the cabinet colors but the style as well. The kitchen previously had a soffit running above the cabinets as well as an opening for a TV above the refrigerator. With the living room being right next to the kitchen, the owners opted to have this removed.

Removing the soffit opened up space greatly. However, the cabinets were broken up by the custom range hood as well as the corner cabinets. Offering a nice break in the lines. Adding both upper and lower cabinet lighting on a remote dimmer gives the option to have a soft glow during the day and useful lighting while working in the evening. The house features large, open windows that help light up the area with natural lighting next to the dining area.

The island cabinets are a rich, darker color along with the oil rubbed bronze faucet, which strikes a nice contrast against both the island’s white farm sink as well as the countertops and the shaker cabinets across the way.

Adding even more personality, are the corner cabinets custom frosted glass and the lower cabinets custom pulls brings this homey kitchen to life.
